Grand Brix Shooter is a bullet-hell shooter built around combining aircraft.
Different aircraft appear at random, and fusing with them changes the abilities available during a run. Experience points can be collected to strengthen the aircraft, while crystals increase firepower. Players switch crafts as bullet waves advance, making timing part of the combat. The game includes Arcade Mode and Challenge Mode; Challenge Mode supports score competition with friends, and an online leaderboard records results. Secret units are also available. A patch added options to retry a saved Arcade stage, restart Challenge Mode, and toggle tutorial and story content in Arcade Mode. The story ending still appears even when the story option is off.
