Our take on Godbeast Mk.II
The bounce point is the combat rhythm: players who do not enjoy timed encounters and combo execution may hit a wall when the game asks them to fight through enemy groups. The Wolf adds another attack option, but does not change the action-focused structure.
What is Godbeast Mk.II?
Godbeast Mk.
II is a stylized, cel-shaded action title taking place in the City of Insomnia. Ysengrimes, a princess cast out from her realm, travels with her Wolf in a campaign for vengeance and the crown. She battles the Council of the Hunt and the Godbeasts, sacred creatures that protect the rulers and provide their power. Fights unfold in timed stages and use a dedicated combo mechanic. The Wolf can join combat against large groups of monsters.
Confrontations with the Council include battles against people once close to Ysengrimes. Dark woodland areas and highways lit by moonlight surround a city whose residents are pushed toward violence by the Moon. Bright particles and stylized visual effects accompany the cel-shaded art. Familiarity with The Godbeast is unnecessary.
