Our take on Get In The Car, Loser!
The focused road-trip structure leaves out sidequests, maps, and codex entries. That sacrifices optional exploration and in-game reference material, keeping attention on the central story, dialogue, and battles instead.
What is Get In The Car, Loser!?
This road-trip RPG follows Sam Anon, three young Academy attendees, and a renegade angel as they oppose cultists trying to summon the Machine Devil.
The story uses dialogue inspired by visual novels and focuses on love, justice, self-discovery, and confronting a ruling order. Battles use an active-time system with complementary abilities across the party. Equipment grants different abilities depending on the character using it, and can be rearranged between fights to create different party builds.
The Complete Edition includes two additional story chapters: a beach interruption involving a stolen Sword of Fate, and a continuation after the final boss. These chapters add story scenes, items, party members, enemy types, bosses, and progression mechanics. The game has no sidequests, maps, or codex entries.
