- Fans of party-based adventures focused on romance, friendship, and conflict
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking long RPG campaigns may find the 3–4 hour individual playthroughs brief
- Players who want combat-focused progression may find the relationship-led structure too narrow
- Players looking for a single definitive route may not enjoy repeating the game to uncover the truth
Our take on Amarantus
Rather than treating relationships as a side activity around a conventional quest, the game makes shifting friendships, romances, rivalries, and awkward consequences central to the journey. Its short, repeatable structure replaces a single fixed campaign with multiple attempts to uncover the truth.
What is Amarantus?
Amarantus is a narrative RPG about Arik, a defined protagonist who flees an attack, gathers a party, and travels toward the capital to confront a tyrant.
Choices shape friendships, rivalries, romance, sexual relationships, and other forms of attachment, while no decision produces a premature ending. The party includes four potential companions who can be befriended, betrayed, courted, or matched with others. A playthrough lasts 3–4 hours, with repeated runs needed to uncover the truth. The game also includes unlockable comic-style illustrations, reactive character moments, name and nickname changes in the interface, and an original post-rock soundtrack with dynamic sound design.
