Our take on GameDev Trash
The bounce point arrives when genre changes become the central structure: players seeking a stable ruleset may hit resistance at the next level transition. Completion-focused players face another wall after the second available level, before the remaining stages.
What is GameDev Trash?
GameDev Trash changes genre from one level to the next, including first-person shooting, third-person open-world role-playing, horror, and two other level types.
Each completed level ends with a boss based on a different figure from the game industry, such as a developer or producer. An unseen narrator presents a strange plot about a modern game developer and its secrets, with silly humor throughout. The current release contains 2 of 5 planned levels. The horror stage is still under development, while two further stages are only in the plans. Jokes target aggressive microtransactions and day-one downloadable content, but the game does not include those systems.
