RPGIs Furquest worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- RPG players who want enemy encounters built around varied minigames
- Adventure players who enjoy friendship-focused stories with unusual character pairings
- Players who want side activities such as basketball, manga reading and seasonal decoration
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking conventional turn-based or action-focused RPG battles may bounce off the switch to enemy-specific minigames.
- Players who prefer a consistent combat format may lose interest when boss encounters shift between genres such as cooking games and visual novels.
- Players looking for a serious or grounded story may not connect with the cute world of big heads, strawberries, manga and cake.
- Players seeking a narrowly focused adventure may find the mixture of story, minigames and world activities too varied.
Our take on Furquest
The likely bounce point is the first enemy encounter: progression through an RPG world gives way to a separate minigame for each opponent. Players expecting one repeatable combat system may hit that format change immediately, while the same structure defines the game's unusual rhythm.
What is Furquest?
Furquest is an RPG adventure in which a puppy arrives in an unfamiliar realm after a game cartridge drops from above.
The narrative centers on a scruffy canine, an isolated rabbit, a silly equine, and a wolf who form a bond in a culture that has prohibited friendship. Battles give each foe its own minigame, and major fights borrow formats from styles such as cooking games and visual novels. Outside combat, the world offers diversions including pumpkin carving, making snow figures, reading manga, and playing basketball.
Its soul mechanic divides each spirit into paired Main and Invert aspects; taking the opposing soul can transform the thief into a formidable Hero Soul. The game uses a cute art direction alongside a soundtrack with a contrasting tone.
