Clunky Hero is a story-driven platformer metroidvania with RPG, hack-and-slash, and comic elements.
Players guide Rufus, a peasant equipped with a broom and bucket, through a journey to rescue his kidnapped wife and protect the village. The game includes nearly 50 levels across 9 areas, plus more than 15 interiors. Rufus can gain 8 skills, use weapons and wearable items, combine 9 enhancements across 3 bonus slots, and trade items in shops. The campaign also includes boss battles, side quests, character conversations, humorous equipment, original music, and hand-drawn-looking backgrounds. Its setting combines platforming exploration with combat, character progression, and an intentionally absurd storyline.
