Play it if you…
Good fit- Space-shooter players who want a campaign involving the defense of a human colony
- Players who enjoy switching among ships with different strengths and weaknesses
- Shooters fans who want optional objectives and upgrades tied to mission progress
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a quiet, low-intensity pace may hit a wall in the escalating enemy waves and intense battles.
- Players who dislike repeated combat objectives may lose interest in attacking enemies and defending allied ships across missions.
- Players looking for a climbing puzzle or exploration-focused journey may find the combat-centered structure a mismatch.
Our take on Galaxy Highways
Players who want to jump straight into combat without managing progression may hit a wall at the docks: upgrades build structures over time, and enough upgrades are required to access the special battleship levels.
What is Galaxy Highways?
Galaxy Highways is a story-driven space shooter in which a pilot defends a human colony from alien forces.
Missions include attacking enemies and protecting friendly ships, miners, probes, and convoys. Players choose among ships with different strengths and weaknesses, then upgrade weapons and defenses after successful missions. Lasers, rockets, mines, and defensive turrets are among the available weapons; credits earned during play can unlock additional weapons and improve existing ones. Optional and special objectives provide further upgrades. Purchases at the docks build or improve structures, including the central battleship. Once enough upgrades have been earned, special battleship levels become available. The campaign follows humanity’s retreat to the galaxy’s edge after an alien encounter destroys Earth.
How Galaxy Highways plays
- 01Ship upgrades
- Mission success can improve weapons and defenses, while dock purchases can change ship health, dash rate, reload, and drone options.
- 02Optional objectives
- Additional tasks can grant upgrades beyond those earned through successful missions.
- 03Battleship progression
- Dock upgrades build the central battleship and eventually open special levels centered on it.
- 04Mission variety
- Objectives include attacking enemy forces and defending friendly ships, miners, probes, and convoys.
