- Players wanting a story campaign longer than 13 territories may find the main mode limited in scope.
Our take on From Dust
This god game makes the environment the central instrument rather than treating it as a fixed backdrop. Progress involves altering terrain and responding to disasters, while 30 separate timed maps replace a conventional set of side activities.
What is From Dust?
From Dust is a god game about directing a primitive tribe through a world that changes under natural forces.
Its story mode covers 13 territories across tropical islands, volcanic regions and deserts. Players reshape the environment by redirecting lava, stopping water, draining lakes, growing forests and raising mountains. Tsunamis, wildfires, earthquakes, volcanoes and heavy rain create threats for the tribe. The game also offers 30 Challenge Mode maps, each built around a timed, puzzle-like scenario. Online leaderboards allow Challenge Mode scores to be compared with those from players worldwide. The main structure combines environmental manipulation with tribe protection, while the additional maps focus on completing specific challenges before time runs out.
