- RPG players who prefer building characters without fixed class roles
- Fantasy players interested in moral choices framed beyond a good-versus-evil scale
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a quick, low-complexity tactical game may find its layered systems demanding.
- Those who prefer a narrow battle-only structure may not enjoy balancing combat with kingdom-level decisions.
- Players seeking fixed character classes and familiar tank, damage, and healer roles may prefer a class-based RPG.
Our take on Forged of Blood
The game’s breadth comes with a trade-off: players must engage with both detailed character and spell systems and strategic decisions beyond individual battles. That layered structure leaves less room for a straightforward, battle-focused campaign.
What is Forged of Blood?
Forged of Blood is a turn-based tactical RPG set during a civil war in the fantasy world of Attiras.
Characters have no fixed classes: builds draw on 9 weapon types, each with its own ability tree, plus 6 general ability trees. Parties of up to five characters enter battles with two weapon sets apiece, making positioning, turn order, and build choices part of combat. The spellcrafting system combines 6 Primordials, 8 Effect Classes, 12 Effect Modifiers, and 12 Global Modifiers. Away from battle, players manage 3 parties across a continent, make choices about territories, and shape the kingdom’s future. A Tri-Axis Personality Index tracks actions through Altruism, Rationalism, and Hedonism rather than a good-versus-evil scale.
