Our take on Forever Home
The story places Xero in a war where saving the planet may require killing his best friend, making that conflict the defining stake of the RPG.
What is Forever Home?
Forever Home is a retro RPG inspired by SNES and PS1 games.
Its story follows Xero and his friends, who are pulled into a war between nations after a series of tragic events. A rogue general threatens humanity, and saving the planet may mean killing Xero’s best friend. Battles use a turn-based system with action-time elements, alongside skill learning and slots that boost stats. Players can craft equipment and items, catch monsters, enter a rank-based Colosseum, and take on side quests.
The main story runs for 30+ hours, with 30+ hours of side quests. A world map includes ship and airship travel, and boss fights call for planned strategies. The narrative combines tragedy, personal hardship, and humor, with an original soundtrack.
