Our take on Forest Warrior
Players who need a broad exploration loop may hit the wall when each run centers on surviving escalating waves. Those who want every ability available from the outset may also bounce at the special-selection screen, where one of the four run slots is locked.
What is Forest Warrior?
In a woodland overrun by zombies, birds, fire spirits, and other hostile beings, players endure progressively tougher enemy waves.
Combat uses hatchets, firearms, explosives, and nearby surroundings. Before each attempt, three special abilities are selected, while a fourth and stronger ability stays unavailable. These abilities have different effects, durations, and strength ratings, which appear in the choice screen. Ally abilities can bring companions into the fight: the Hawk targets airborne foes, while the Husky aids against creatures attacking from the ground.
How Forest Warrior plays
- 01Wave-based combat
- Enemy encounters become harder over the course of a run and include zombies, birds, and fire spirits.
- 02Multiple weapon types
- The arsenal includes hatchets, firearms, and explosives for fighting forest enemies.
- 03Run-specific specials
- Four special slots are available per run, with three chosen before combat and one stronger slot unavailable for selection.
- 04Summoned allies
- Some specials call companions such as a Hawk for aerial enemies or a Husky for ground threats.
