- Simulation players who prefer variable maps and events between runs
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a fast-paced game may find the focus on resource gathering and settlement management slow.
- Players who dislike juggling food, shelter, water, health, security, space, and labour may hit a wall managing the colony’s competing needs.
- Players looking for squad-based combat or military campaigns may not find that focus here.
Our take on Floodland
Players who struggle with several demands competing for limited labour may hit the wall during colony management, where food, shelter, water, health, and security all need attention. Law choices add another pressure point: groups may resist the direction set for the settlement.
What is Floodland?
Floodland is a society survival game set on a world reshaped by climate disaster and rising seas.
Lead a group of survivors as they explore islands, gather scarce resources, and rebuild a settlement. Colony management involves providing food, shelter, water, health, and security while researching technology, upgrading buildings, and training specialists. Limited resources, space, and labour shape those tasks. Set laws through a branching Law-Tree, balancing the needs of groups with different views of the future. Maps, events, and the world’s makeup are randomly generated for each playthrough. The game also includes four possible starting islands, eight clans, ten events, and a Mushroom Picker Hut for expanding food supplies.
