Our take on Flight 74
The mission campaign gives the flight simulator a narrative structure, but that focus leaves less room for the open-ended variety found in a broader aviation sandbox. Free Flight Mode adds unscripted flying, though the central experience remains tied to piloting one aircraft through cartel missions.
What is Flight 74?
Flight 74 is a VR flight simulator built around a campaign in which a pilot lands at an unmarked runway after an engine failure and works for a South American cartel.
Missions combine flight, puzzle, and strategy elements. The cockpit supports hand interactions with switches, buttons, levers, and objects such as a tablet, coffee cup, sunglasses, and guns. The game includes seven airports, more than 2,000 square miles of scenery, and a Free Flight Mode. It is available for Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest through PCVR, while the Quest 2 and Quest 3 versions include improvements over the PC version.
How Flight 74 plays
- 01Interactive Cockpit

- 02Campaign Missions
- A movie-style campaign follows missions performed for a South American cartel after an emergency landing.
- 03Large Flight Area
- The game includes seven airports and over 2,000 square miles containing terrain, buildings, cars, and other scenery.
- 04Free Flight Mode
- A separate mode allows flight outside the campaign mission structure.
