Our take on FINAL FANTASY IV
The page emphasizes updated presentation and added play options, while this edition follows the original 1991 game. Changes and extra content from other rereleases are not included, so it does not represent every version’s additions.
What is FINAL FANTASY IV?
Cecil, captain of Baron’s Red Wings, turns against the kingdom after its attacks on neighboring countries.
He travels with allies including Kain, Rosa, and Rydia while searching for crystals across the surface, underground regions, the Land of Summons, and the moon. Battles use Active Time Battle, so time continues to move during combat. This remaster presents the original game with updated 2D pixel graphics, rearranged music, a modernized interface, and auto-battle options. Players can switch between rearranged and original soundtrack versions, choose between font styles, disable random encounters, and adjust experience multipliers from 0 to 4. A bestiary, illustration gallery, and music player provide additional in-game materials.
