Our take on Filament
The store page foregrounds the mystery and narrative around the missing crew, but the main activity is solving more than 300 puzzles built around one cable-based format. The hint system is noted, yet the stated difficulty remains a central part of the experience.
What is Filament?
Filament is a single-player puzzle adventure set aboard The Alabaster, a research ship placed under lockdown after a mysterious complication.
The crew is missing, and Juniper, the ship’s stricken pilot, remains in contact while the investigation unfolds. Players can explore the vessel freely and tackle more than 300 puzzles involving cables, with many challenges available in an order of choice. Solving puzzles reveals information about Juniper, the crew, and the ship’s history. Crew logs, messages, records, personal belongings, and other objects provide additional clues about what happened. The game includes a hint system for particularly difficult puzzles. Its central structure combines ship exploration, puzzle solving, and narrative discovery.
