StrategyIs Rise of Industry worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy fans who want to construct and optimize industrial production chains
- Tycoon players who prefer contracts, trade, and market competition over military operations
- Simulation fans interested in combining manufacturing, gathering, logistics, and research
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking direct combat will hit a wall because the main systems center on factories, trade, transport, and business competition.
- Players wanting a fixed and predictable scenario may struggle when maps, towns, rival behavior, and business events change.
- Players who want to specialize in only one unchanging activity may find the connected production and transport systems demanding.
Our take on Rise of Industry
The bounce point arrives when production expands beyond individual factories into linked supply chains, transport routes, contracts, and town-specific demands. Players who prefer a simple trading loop may hit the wall while coordinating materials, finished goods, rival pressure, and environmental tradeoffs.
What is Rise of Industry?
Rise of Industry is a strategy and business simulation set in a procedurally generated world modeled on the 1930s.
Build factories, connect production chains, move raw materials, manufacture finished goods, and trade with developing towns and cities. Players can focus on trading, production, gathering, or a combination while researching expansion. Contracts, stock auctions, random business events, rival companies, and hostile takeovers affect the industrial empire. More than 150 products can be made, including cars and computers, with transport handled by trucks, trains, and airships. Town personalities and changing city behavior influence commercial decisions. Industrial output can also be balanced against environmental effects through choices about productivity and nature.
