Our take on Field of Honor
The emphasis on battles exceeding 1,000 units suggests scale, but the store presentation gives less attention to the limited structure: four listed modes, AI-controlled opposition and an Early Access roadmap. The historical scope is broad, while much of the future content remains planned.
What is Field of Honor?
Field of Honor is a single-player game combining first-person combat with strategic command across the Napoleonic Wars, American Revolutionary War and American Civil War.
Players can fight as infantry or cavalry in battles controlled partly by AI, command forces from a strategy map, or direct units from a first-person view. Battles can contain more than 1,000 units at once. Playable factions include numerous European nations, revolutionary-era United States and Great Britain, and Civil War Union or Confederate forces. Units are divided into artillery, cavalry and infantry. Four modes are available: Conquest, Defense, Assault and Custom Battle. The game is presented as an Early Access title, with additional nations, units, weapons and equipment planned.
