Our take on Field of Glory: Empires
The battle-control option has a condition: transferring battles into Field of Glory II requires owning that separate game. Without it, the described play centers on empire management and strategic decisions rather than direct control through the companion title.
What is Field of Glory: Empires?
Manage an empire in Europe and the Mediterranean during the Classical Age.
Expand through conquest while shaping government and culture to address Decadence, a risk that grows as an empire ages. Oversee regions, create provinces, construct buildings, and develop trade in goods and resources. Battles depend on army composition, opposing strengths, battlefield choice, and the appointed general, while simultaneous WEGO turns require planning interceptions and retreats. The game also supports asynchronous multiplayer against other players. Owners of Field of Glory II can transfer battles between the games, taking tactical battles from Empires into Field of Glory II and returning the results. A Masters Edition bundle combines both games with a stated 25% discount.
