RPGIs Feign worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Groups of friends who want hidden-role deduction with discussion and voting
- Players who enjoy bluffing and shifting suspicion while pursuing competing team objectives
- Small groups seeking a drawing-and-guessing mode for 4–8 players
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want every role's actions to work as expected may hit a wall with the Insane role, whose actions have no effect until the role is revealed at the end.
- Players seeking a single-player campaign may find the group-focused discussion, voting, and deception structure limiting.
- Groups larger than 12 players, or drawing groups larger than 8, exceed the stated match sizes.
Our take on Feign
The Insane role is a specific sticking point: its player believes they are helping the Innocents, but their actions do nothing, and they learn why only at the end. Players who want immediate feedback on whether their role abilities work may find that reveal delay frustrating.
What is Feign?
Feign is a role-based multiplayer game set in a small town, with matches for up to 12 players.
Players take roles as Innocents, Impostors, or Neutrals. At night, roles can use abilities to gather information or eliminate others; during the day, players discuss and vote someone out. Innocents try to identify Impostors, while Impostors work to eliminate Innocents or avoid suspicion. Neutrals pursue their own objectives and may work against either side.
Some roles add uncertainty: an Insane player believes their actions are helping the Innocents, but those actions have no effect, and the role is revealed only at the end. A separate drawing mode supports 4–8 players: one person draws without seeing the secret word while the others sketch, then the group debates and votes. Feign Cookies can be used to unlock character costumes and accessories.
How Feign plays
- 01Hidden role objectives
- Innocents, Impostors, and Neutrals have different goals, and Neutrals can work against either of the other groups.
- 02Night and day rounds
- Players use role abilities at night, then discuss suspicions and vote someone out in the morning.
- 03Drawing mode
- In matches for 4–8 players, one person draws without seeing the secret word while the group tries to identify them.
- 04Character customization
- Feign Cookies can be spent on costumes and accessories for avatars.
