Our take on Fear the Spotlight
Rather than centering horror on combat, the game places stealth and tactile puzzles alongside its mystery. Its deserted high-school setting and 1990s teen-horror references also replace the broader or more fantastical settings found in many adventure games.
What is Fear the Spotlight?
Fear the Spotlight is a third-person horror adventure set in Sunnyside High after a séance goes wrong.
Play as Vivian, who is left alone when Amy disappears, and explore the school’s changed corridors while avoiding a creature that reacts to her presence. The story follows Vivian as she searches for Amy and investigates a decades-old tragedy. Gameplay combines stealth sequences with tactile puzzles, using items such as a flashlight, screwdriver, and wrench to explore and uncover clues. The game draws on 1990s teen horror through its retro art style, audio design, and school setting. An additional storyline expands the game’s narrative.
