Our take on Fault - Broken Promises
The debt deadline gives each dungeon trip a direct purpose, but limits leisurely play. Gold spent on equipment cannot also be used toward repayment, tying character preparation to the story’s time pressure.
What is Fault - Broken Promises?
Fault - Broken Promises follows Albel, an academy student who must repay a 100,000-gold debt within 25 days after losing a duel.
Gameplay alternates between dungeon expeditions and evening returns to the academy. Albel fights monsters, collects loot, manages stamina, and decides whether to save gold or buy equipment. Running out of stamina or losing a battle ends a dungeon trip. Regular enemies use simplified turn-based combat, while bosses use a classic battle interface. Albel can explore with Yuni or travel alone. Vendor inventory can change from day to day. The time taken to repay the debt affects the game's multiple endings, with 99 save slots available for trying different strategies.
