Our take on Eyes in the Dark
The bounce point arrives when a new perk requires a matching weakness. Players who prefer upgrades without trade-offs may find the power-versus-difficulty choice interrupts their preferred build path, especially alongside the changing manor layouts and increasingly dangerous enemies.
What is Eyes in the Dark?
Eyes in the Dark is a roguelike platformer about Victoria Bloom’s fight to reclaim Bloom Manor and rescue her grandfather, Victor.
Players use a flashlight and slingshot against creatures while exploring manor layouts that change between runs. New gadgets, weapon modules, perks, and upgrades expand the arsenal and alter each attempt. Perks come with linked weaknesses, requiring choices between increased power and added difficulty. Items can also be combined through tinkering to create different effects, such as burning attacks or electricity that jumps between enemies. Progress leads to larger foes and encounters with Guardians. Quests reveal information about Victoria’s family and unlock further exploration of the manor.
