Our take on Exodus Borealis
The description emphasizes building a thriving kingdom, but the stated play loop also includes survival challenges tied to days, seasons, and generations. Settlement growth is therefore paired with recurring environmental management and defense planning, rather than presented as building alone.
What is Exodus Borealis?
Exodus Borealis combines colony building with tower defense.
After a shipwreck leaves a small group of Vupfox colonists on an unknown island, players establish settlements, assign jobs, manage resources, and research buildings and citizen efficiencies. Settlement building can extend across 6 hand-crafted islands, while each day, season, and generation brings environmental challenges. Invaders seek targets inside the settlement, allowing players to shape mazes that guide enemy movement. Elemental gems mined on the island can give offensive towers special effects or provide buffs to nearby towers. Elements can also strengthen neighboring effects or nullify opposing ones. The objective is to develop a functioning society and defend it from threats beyond a mysterious gate.
