Our take on Excubitor
Its defining structure is the combination of hands-on ship piloting and turret placement: the Hammerhead fights directly while defensive structures cover selected positions.
What is Excubitor?
Excubitor combines tower defense with direct control of a Hammerhead defense craft.
Enemy drones move toward the Antares mothership while players place and upgrade turrets in strategic locations and operate the ship’s weapons. The Hammerhead has 17 upgradeable weapons, including multi-target, plasma, and high-damage systems, plus subsystem abilities that increase firing speed or stun enemies. Players can build and upgrade 9 turrets, interact with the environment during defense, and face colossal bosses. The game includes four difficulty levels, including NewGame+, and replayable levels with score and gold-rank goals. Its story takes place in a remote human-colonized star system containing Voidshards, blue crystals scattered across its worlds.

Excubitor compared to similar games
Excubitor combines direct control of a defense craft with turret construction, while Dungeon Defenders: Awakened adds cooperative action RPG systems such as loot, leveling, pets, and character customization. Anomaly: Warzone Earth also mixes action and tower defense, but reverses the format by having players fight through an alien offensive across near-future Earth.
