Our take on Elude
Rather than giving survival games a broader set of resources, objectives, or exploration systems, Elude reduces the format to perpetual steering. The run is built around positioning, enemy collisions, and a hazardous trail, replacing long-term progression with immediate score competition.
What is Elude?
Elude is an endless arcade survival game built around constant movement and score chasing.
Players steer left and right to avoid enemies, use a speed boost to escape aggressive pursuers, and leave a damaging trail that can destroy enemies but also ends the run if crossed. Enemies can be made to crash into one another or trapped in the trail. The game grows harder over time, with runs intended for short to mid-length sessions. A lower-difficulty mode provides a gentler starting point. Progress centers on staying alive, setting a high score, replaying runs, and earning Steam Achievements. The game also supports controllers, and players may stream and monetize footage.
How Elude plays
- 01Enemy Traps
- A trail left behind the player can destroy enemies on contact, while contact with the same trail ends the current run.
- 02Speed Boost
- A temporary burst of speed creates an escape option when more aggressive enemies are in pursuit.
- 03Rising Difficulty
- The endless format becomes more difficult as a run continues.
- 04Lower-Difficulty Mode
- A separate mode offers a less demanding introduction to the survival loop.
- 05Score Chasing
- The central progression loop is built around exceeding previous scores and replaying runs.
- 06Steam Achievements
- Runs contribute to an achievement system on Steam.
- 07Controller Support
- The game can be played with a controller as well as its other listed input method.
- 08Stream Monetization
- Players may stream and monetize footage from the game.
