Is The Neon Mate worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Arcade players who want endless distance-based runs
- Platformer fans who enjoy timed jumps between planets
- Score chasers interested in online high-score competition
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a story campaign or a defined ending may hit a wall with the endless run structure.
- Players who dislike accelerating movement and timer-based jumps may struggle as speed and planet size increase.
- Players looking for crafting, exploration, or multi-stage platforming may find the single-run format too narrow.
Our take on The Neon Mate
The bounce point arrives when speed starts rising and planets expand during a run. Players who need more time to plan each jump will then face the timer, obstacle collisions, and limited lives at the same moment.
What is The Neon Mate?
The Neon Mate is an endless retro 3D platformer with synthwave music.
The player is drawn toward the nearest planet while movement speed increases and planets grow over time. Jumps between planets must be completed before the timer expires, while obstacles can cost lives. Rings can be collected and used to unlock skins. The game includes Classic and Hardcore modes, online high scores, and distance-based scoring. Movement uses the mouse, with clicking used to jump. Horizontal and vertical sensitivity can be adjusted separately.
