Our take on ELF
Players who prefer a single combat style may bounce off when progress requires switching among spells, bombs, platforming, puzzles, and traversal items. Those seeking a fixed conclusion may also stop at the multiple-ending structure, where actions during the rescue affect the outcome.
What is ELF?
ELF is an arcade-style action adventure about Cornelius, an elf seeking to rescue Elisa from Necrilous.
Progress combines platforming, shooting, puzzles, traps, and encounters with hostile creatures across forests, ruins, lakes, swamps, caves, and snowy mountains. A magic ring supports combat, while spells, bombs, and an upgradeable arsenal provide additional attacks. Items found during the journey open traversal options, including a flying contraption, and a menu system allows interactions with characters and other creatures. Cornelius can improve his attacks, speed, and magic as he advances toward the castle. The game includes multiple endings shaped by actions taken during the rescue quest.
How ELF plays
- 01Spell-Based Combat
- Cornelius can cast stronger spells over the course of the journey and throw bombs at enemies.
- 02Traversal Items
- Collected items provide new ways to move through the game's varied environments, including flight.
- 03Character Interactions
- A detailed menu system supports encounters with characters and unusual creatures.
- 04Progression Upgrades
- Attacks, movement speed, and magic can be improved while advancing through the quest.
- 05Multiple Endings
- The conclusion changes according to actions taken during the rescue mission.
ELF compared to similar games
