Our take on The Captives: Plot of the Demiurge
Players who want one persistent build may bounce at the character cycle: after each level, the controlled prisoner becomes an NPC and a new character must be created. Combat can also stop progress for anyone unwilling to manage stamina across attacks, defense, and dodges.
What is The Captives: Plot of the Demiurge?
The Captives: Plot of the Demiurge centers on fast-paced fights and ten custom prisoners.
Before every stage, players choose a name, look, weapon, and how to divide points among Health, Stamina, Focus, and Movement. Because the budget is tight, no single fighter can handle every role. Stamina fuels attacks, defensive moves, and evasions, making timing and reading opponents important. Once a stage ends, its controlled prisoner becomes a story NPC available for later conversation. The campaign casts prisoners into the Tetrarch’s army, sending them against Prince Pico while they pursue intelligence and freedom. Challenge Runs remix the campaign with options such as randomized character setups, modified healing, and reduced checkpoint access.
