Our take on Chrono Ghost
Its defining structure is a color-coded time system: temporal powers affect green-outlined obstacles, while red-outlined obstacles ignore them, turning each level into a timing puzzle built around selective manipulation.
What is Chrono Ghost?
Chrono Ghost is a platforming adventure built around controlling time during obstacle-filled levels.
The character can accelerate, slow, or halt time, with stopping limited by a meter while the other two effects can be used without that limit. Color determines which objects respond: green-outlined obstacles are affected, while red-outlined ones ignore time control. Movement includes jumping, crouching, and dashing, with jump height varying by button duration and some dash techniques combining ledges with jumps. Blue platforms provide another jump after the character reaches peak height. Levels become more demanding as progress continues, and hidden discoveries accompany questions about the Spirit of Time and the character’s origin. Controller support is available after the initial launcher.
How Chrono Ghost plays
- 01Time Manipulation
- The character can speed up, slow down, or freeze time, with freezing governed by a limited meter.
- 02Color-Based Obstacles
- Green-marked objects respond to temporal abilities, while red-marked ones remain unaffected.
- 03Dash Jumping
- A dash can combine with jumping, and launching from a ledge into open space can enable another dash.
- 04Variable Jumping
- Tapping or holding the jump control produces shorter or longer leaps.
- 05Bouncing Platforms
- Blue platforms grant an additional jump when reached at the top of a leap.
