Our take on EARTHLOCK
Casual players are likely to bounce off when the turn-based battles demand deliberate tactical choices, particularly during fierce boss fights. The talent board can also become a sticking point for anyone who does not want to tune character strengths, weaknesses, stances, and perks.
What is EARTHLOCK?
EARTHLOCK is an adventure RPG on Umbra, a severe world that has remained motionless for thousands of cycles.
A band of unlikely heroes sets out to stop an old evil from returning. Battles are turn-based, with two stances for each character and abilities tied to their bonds. A talent board lets players adjust character strengths, while collected perk talents add combat skills. Between fights, players explore, gather items, seek treasure, trade, and take part in side activities. On a home island, they grow plants and harvest ingredients, then craft weapons, equipment, items, potions, ammunition, and perks. The overworld also offers exploration abilities and creatures to find.
