Our take on Duriano
Rather than using a conventional human warrior, the game casts the player as a spiky durian in a Norse-inspired apocalypse. Its arena roguelite structure also replaces a fixed path with repeated runs shaped by changing enemies, environments, and build choices.
What is Duriano?
Duriano is a top-down arena roguelite set in a world where a curse has transformed living beings into fruits and vegetables.
Players control a durian hero chosen to investigate the ruined cycle of life and travel through Muspelheim, the Norse land of fire. Runs involve fighting groups of monsters and confronting the fire giant Surtr. Hero variants, divine paths, buffs, weapons, and items provide different ways to shape a build. Mythic weapons have distinct attributes and effects that can be combined with hero abilities. Each run changes its environments, enemies, and challenges, requiring strategy adjustments during play. Continued play unlocks additional hero variants, gods, and weapons, while collected powers can be upgraded.

Duriano compared to similar games
Anomaly: Warzone Earth combines action and strategy through a reversed tower-defense structure focused on saving cities from alien forces. Duriano instead uses top-down arena roguelite runs, hero variants, weapon combinations, divine paths, and upgrade-based progression against monsters in Muspelheim.
