We tell you who should skip it, too.

- Players who prefer turn-based tactical battles over real-time combat
- Fantasy players seeking bleak worlds and rebellion-focused stories rather than light adventure
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking fast, real-time combat may find the turn-based battles slow-paced.

- Players wanting one continuous campaign may not prefer a collection containing two separate Dark Sun games.
Our take on Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Sun Series
Players who need immediate real-time action may hit a wall when battles switch to turn-based tactical control. Those seeking a lighter opening may also bounce at the first game’s starting point, where the party begins as enslaved gladiators in Draj.
What is Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Sun Series?
This collection includes Dark Sun: Shattered Lands and Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager, both set on Athas, a harsh and arid world.
In Shattered Lands, four characters begin as slaves in Draj and must escape, join other escaped slaves, and build a rebel force against a sorcerer-king’s army. The game combines free exploration, quests, conversations with non-player characters, and turn-based tactical battles. Wake of the Ravager continues in the same setting with recruitable champions from different races and classes, including Gladiators, Psionicists, and Rangers. Its party can gain levels and be customised while travelling across Athas, meeting its inhabitants, investigating ancient mysteries, and completing two quests.
