Play it if you…
Good fit- Twin-stick shooter fans who want a campaign alongside arena combat

Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a slow-paced or stealth-focused experience may find the repeated combat waves and arena battles a poor match.
- Those looking for a sprawling RPG with extensive character progression may find the brief mention of RPG elements does not meet that expectation.
- Players seeking online co-op may not find a match in the stated local multiplayer setup.
Our take on Dual Core
Rather than limiting the shooter to a single arcade structure, Dual Core pairs wave-based arena combat with handcrafted story levels and a separate versus mode. Its campaign gives the action a sci-fi mystery to follow, while local co-op and AI companions shape the play around small groups.
What is Dual Core?
Set in 2147 on Europa, the game follows two AI cores that awaken inside security drones and try to uncover what happened to the human colony while fighting to survive.
Story mode runs through handcrafted levels; arcade mode sends players against successive waves in arena combat; and versus mode supports matches against up to 3 friends or AI bots. Up to 4 players can cooperate locally, with AI-controlled robo-buddies accompanying the group. The twin-stick shooter mixes retro arcade influences with sci-fi story elements and some RPG mechanics. A gamepad is recommended, and customizable mouse and keyboard controls are also available.
