Our take on DR4X
Its defining structure is compact 30-turn 4X skirmishes, pairing empire management with short sessions instead of prolonged wars.
What is DR4X?
DR4X is a turn-based 4X game built around short sessions.
Skirmishes last 30 turns and can finish in under an hour, with customizable settings for realm age, savagery, enemies, monsters, invasions, and victory conditions. Procedurally generated maps include randomly created artifacts, spreading beast dens, bandit camps, and events shaped by the selected settings. Factions use different resources, goals, and playstyles, with technologies and faction-specific tile effects adding further choices. The single-player campaign contains unlockable missions, voiced briefings, multiple victory routes, and five possible endings. Its setting combines fantasy conflict with horror elements, including kingdoms, bandits, a rat king, a dark lord, and demonic goats.
