StrategyIs Tyrannis worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want opposing sides with different objectives
- Groups seeking local or online multiplayer matches
- Players who enjoy custom factions and campaigns that reset after failure
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking symmetrical armies may hit a wall when the two sides use different objectives and tactics.
- Players who want persistent campaign progress may bounce off Reconquista Mode when failure resets the run.
- Players looking for real-time combat may find the turn-based structure too slow.
Our take on Tyrannis
The bounce point comes when players choose a side and encounter different objectives: mercenaries hunt rebels, while rebels raid and liberate. Reconquista Mode adds another wall after failure, since the campaign must begin again rather than carrying progress forward.
What is Tyrannis?
Tyrannis is a turn-based strategy game about opposing mercenary and rebel forces with different objectives.
Mercenary commanders conduct search-and-destroy missions, while rebel commanders raid enemy positions and work to liberate regions from dictatorship. Victory can come through a decisive result, control of the most regions when neither side prevails, or a campaign completed without firing a shot. The game includes factions with different abilities, maps, adjustable AI aggression, offensiveness, and randomness, plus local and online multiplayer. Reconquista Mode adds a roguelike campaign across Latin America, where players create and develop a faction while liberating regions. A failed campaign must be restarted.
How Tyrannis plays
