Our take on Diebrary
The defining structure is asynchronous group voting: friends play each chapter separately, then choose a plot twist that applies to everyone’s story.
What is Diebrary?
Diebrary is an arena roguelike about surviving battles against thousands of enemies.
Players choose 1 of 5 main characters, each with distinct abilities and skills, then combine 7 primary weapons with 12 secondary weapons. Temporary upgrades apply during a run, while currency earned during runs can unlock perks in the perk store. These upgrades can be refunded and rearranged. A caged pet encountered early can join the fight as an ally. The story includes over 50 plot twists. In asynchronous multiplayer, friends play each chapter separately and vote at the end. One selected twist then takes effect for every player in the shared story.
How Diebrary plays
- 01Chapter twist voting
- In asynchronous multiplayer, each player completes a chapter alone before the group selects a change shared across the story.
- 02Rearrangeable upgrades
- Currency from runs unlocks perks, and purchased upgrades can be refunded and shuffled.
- 03Combat pets
- A caged pet found early in the game can become an ally during battles against enemy hordes.
