Is Sun Down Survivors worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Roguelike players who want permanent progression between runs
- Action players who enjoy combining weapons, spells, pets, and turrets
- Players who want farming, crafting, relationships, and combat in one game
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a purely relaxed farming game may hit a wall when enemy waves continue during the day and intensify after sunset.
- Players who dislike repeated runs and permanent upgrades after defeat may lose interest in the roguelike progression loop.
- Players wanting a narrow combat-only experience may find the crafting, resource selling, shop visits, and relationship activities distracting.
Our take on Sun Down Survivors
The likely bounce point is the daytime schedule: gathering resources, crafting, farming, selling goods, and visiting the shop all compete with ongoing enemy waves. Players who cannot balance preparation against the approaching sunset may be overrun before reaching the tougher night battles.
What is Sun Down Survivors?
Sun Down Survivors is a roguelike survivors-style action game set in an alternate Sun Haven timeline.
Players control one of four characters and defend against escalating monster waves using weapons, spells, abilities, pets, and crafted turrets. Level-ups provide skill cards for improving builds, while losses allow permanent upgrades to characters and abilities through the weapons rack and anvil. Daytime supports crafting, resource gathering, farming, selling goods, and shop visits, but limited hours must be managed before the fighting intensifies after sunset. More than 35 crafting items can be made, and purchased upgrades to spells, weapons, and abilities stack indefinitely. Objectives, relationships, romance, marriage, and a campaign against Dynus add activities beyond combat.
