Our take on Diceheart
Diceheart centers its combat and defense on dice, so its tactical choices are tied to that system rather than a broader set of combat tools. Randomized layouts, enemies, and items add run variation, but make a fixed, repeatable route less central to the experience.
What is Diceheart?
Diceheart is a roguelite dungeon crawler built around turn-based tactical dice battles in the Quantum Realm.
Dice provide both attacks and defense, with elements such as fire, poison, frost, and nature. Runs involve collecting and upgrading dice, gathering trick items, and using dice-powered gambit cards to shape character builds. The release includes characters with distinct starting equipment and stats, 300+ gambit cards, 280+ trick items, and 70+ enemies. Its 7 levels feature different landscapes, enemies, and bosses. Items, enemies, and level layouts are randomized between playthroughs. Equipment can be upgraded at labs, forges, and altars, while a levelling system, character upgrades, and unlocks provide meta progression.
How Diceheart plays
- 01Elemental dice combat
- Dice serve as both offense and defense, with fire, poison, frost, and nature among the elements.

- 03Randomized runs
- Items, enemies, and layouts change between playthroughs across 7 levels.
- 04Distinct characters
- Characters have individual starting dice, gambits, tricks, and statistics.
- 05Meta progression
- Levelling, character upgrades, and unlocks carry progression beyond individual runs.
Diceheart compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown also uses turn-based combat and roguelike progression, but builds its encounters around positioning, attack tiles, and deck-building rather than dice. Diceheart instead combines dungeon exploration with elemental dice, gambit cards, and randomized level layouts.
