Our take on Dead Ink
The exploration emphasis leaves the resource pressure easy to miss. Ink funds the body, weapons, and equipment, death removes it, and an empty supply ends the run, so movement through the tower is tied closely to spending decisions.
What is Dead Ink?
Dead Ink is a top-down soulslike set within one vertical brutalist tower.
The journey moves from its summit toward the base through connected zones containing sealed routes, alternate paths, concealed drops, and hazardous edges. Defeated foes yield ink, which printers use to create the player character, weapons, and gear while establishing checkpoints across the structure. Ink may fund a stronger setup, be saved for later attempts, or be carried between printers. Death removes ink; reaching zero ends the current run. Melee encounters feature guarding, timed counters, evasive rolls, and attacks from above. The tower includes several weapon types, enemy groups, bosses, concealed paths, and blueprint improvements. Controller play is supported.
