Play it if you…
Good fit- Co-op action players who want runs for up to four people
- Roguelite fans who enjoy changing layouts and loot
- Players who like combining random perks into character builds
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed campaign may bounce off the changing town and loot on every run
- Those who dislike repeated battles against undead hordes may hit a wall during the core escape runs
- Solo players who specifically want a game built around individual play may not suit its cooperative focus
Our take on Darksburg
The bounce point arrives when repeated runs become the main structure: every attempt reshuffles the town and loot, while survival depends on combining three-perk choices with Survivor skills. Players looking for a fixed route or steadily scripted progression may stop there.
What is Darksburg?
Darksburg is a cooperative roguelite action game about escaping a medieval city overrun by Infected and other undead enemies.
Players choose a Survivor, each with distinct skills and personalities, then fight through changing areas of the town. Runs include objectives, enemies, items, and loot that vary between attempts. On each level-up, players choose one of three random perks and combine perks and skills into a build. Cooperative play supports a group of up to four players, with one player joined by as many as three friends. The game focuses on repeated attempts through procedurally generated locations, with the city and its loot changing from run to run.
How Darksburg plays
- 01Four-player cooperation
- A run can include one player and up to three friends working together against the undead.
- 02Survivor abilities
- Each playable Survivor has distinct skills and a separate personality.
- 03Randomized perk builds
- Each level-up presents three random perks to combine with skills during a run.
- 04Changing city runs
- The town, its loot, objectives, enemies, and items vary across attempts.
Darksburg compared to similar games
Darksburg combines cooperative action, procedurally changing locations, undead enemies, and perk-based builds for up to four players. Abyssus also offers multiplayer roguelite action, but its description centers on hand-crafted levels, shooting, brine-powered weapons, and weapon modifications rather than Darksburg’s Survivor skills and three-choice perk system.
