Our take on Dark Auction
Its defining mechanic replaces ordinary auction currency with memories, which can become unreliable when shaped by secrets or trauma. Noah must reconstruct those recollections before each bid can succeed, tying the central puzzle system directly to the story's revelations.
What is Dark Auction?
Dark Auction is a mystery adventure set in 1981, following eighteen-year-old Noah Crawford as he searches an old castle for his missing father.
Players explore rooms and floors, question other guests, and collect information about their hidden trauma and lies. Clues are organized in a Word Cloud and applied during auctions to solve mysteries. These auctions use memories instead of money: participants submit recollections through the EPO device, but secrets and trauma can distort what they remember. Noah supports each participant by repairing damaged memories before a bid is judged. Successful auctions reveal the truth surrounding their exhibits and advance the story. The game combines free exploration, deduction, memory reconstruction, and a narrative written by Rika Suzuki.
