Our take on D.O.T. Defence
The store presentation gives equal weight to short matches, a campaign, wave defense, and territory strategy. That breadth makes the central format less immediately clear: this is not only a tower-defense title, but also a simplified RTS with several distinct modes.
What is D.O.T. Defence?
D.
O. T. Defence combines tower defense and real-time strategy around one objective: protect the headquarters and destroy opposing forces. Its single-player campaign contains 25 missions across three campaigns and is described as offering more than 8 hours of gameplay. Scenarios include wave defense, commander battles, stealth tasks, timed attacks, army deployment puzzles, and boss encounters.
Other modes use a persistent map for territory capture, regional resources, changing biomes, new technologies, and faction powers. Units can receive broad orders, follow set paths, or capture points autonomously. Local multiplayer supports 1v1, 2v2, and free-for-all matches, with AI opponents at different difficulty levels. Wave-defense play adds turret construction, production buildings, regional upgrades, and possible merchant tile modifications. Matches are presented as lasting between 5 and 10 minutes.
