Our take on CONTORTED
The bounce point comes when an enemy attack begins: survival depends on a fast camera reaction or immediate retreat. Players who prefer deliberate combat, forgiving encounters, or extended campaigns may also stop at the approximately one-hour completion point.
What is CONTORTED?
CONTORTED is a first-person horror game about searching for someone who has disappeared by descending through a series of mysterious wells.
Players explore dark, varied environments, listen for enemies, observe their surroundings, and locate the next well. A camera can reveal objects, create light sources, and provide a rapid response when creatures attack; running away is another option. Night vision assists with dark areas, while energy sources recharge the camera’s battery. Multiple enemy types appear across the descent, with survival depending on observation, listening, quick reactions, and power management. The game includes an original soundtrack, Unreal Engine-powered graphics, and an endless minigame for score chasing. The main game takes around an hour to complete.
How CONTORTED plays
- 01Camera-Based Interaction
- The camera reveals objects, creates light sources, and can be used to react when enemies attack.
- 02Battery Management
- Energy sources found during exploration recharge the camera’s power supply.
- 03Enemy Encounters
- Different enemy types require careful listening, observation, fast camera responses, or retreat.
- 04Endless Score Minigame
- A separate endless minigame tracks how many points can be scored.
- 05Well Descent
- Exploration progresses through increasingly deep wells and new environments.
