Is Containment Initiative 2 worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- VR shooter players who want a solo zombie-fighting mode
- Two-player pairs with one VR headset user and one mouse-and-keyboard player
- Steam friends seeking cooperative shooting through Remote Play Together
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want generic reload actions may hit a wall when each gun requires handling based on its real-world counterpart.
- Players seeking a purely solo experience may find the cooperative roles less relevant, despite the available solo VR mode.
- Players without VR equipment or a mouse-and-keyboard partner cannot use the listed asymmetric setup.
Our take on Containment Initiative 2
The bounce point arrives at the weapon-handling system: each gun follows its own real-world operation and reloading pattern, so players expecting one generic reload action may stop there. The asymmetric setup is another hurdle for anyone without a VR player and a mouse-and-keyboard partner.
What is Containment Initiative 2?
Containment Initiative 2 is a local asymmetric cooperative VR shooter for two people on one PC, with one player in VR and the other using a mouse and keyboard.
A solo VR mode is also available. Players explore and scavenge while fighting zombies, collecting loot, weapons, and attachments. Each gun uses handling and reloading based on its real-world counterpart, making reload precision part of survival. Both player roles have progression through unlockable guns, attachments, player upgrades, and other additions.
