Our take on Comatose
The game places survival-horror combat inside a changing unconscious mind, making psychological deterioration part of the setting rather than using a fixed haunted location. Its progression also ties new areas to recovered memories and puzzle solving.
What is Comatose?
Comatose is a story-driven retro survival horror first-person shooter set inside Laura’s unconscious mind.
Players move through a deserted town, search for scarce supplies, and fight monsters with various weapons. The environment grows increasingly corrupted as Laura uncovers buried trauma. Progress depends on solving puzzles, including challenges that require recovered pieces of memory to open new areas. The story follows Laura’s attempt to escape a psychological spiral and return to the living. Exploration, combat, resource management, and uncovering forgotten memories form the core loop, with the surrounding nightmare changing as its hidden truths emerge.
