Our take on Below Nowhere
Players who expect to fight back will bounce off at the first encounter with the Meat Man, since the game removes defensive combat. Those who mismanage body-part injuries may hit another wall when exhaustion makes any additional wound fatal.
What is Below Nowhere?
Set underground during humanity’s last war, this horror experience places the player in shifting environments shaped by memories belonging to other people.
The Meat Man pursues them through each area, and there is no weapon for protection; survival requires fleeing, concealing oneself, and exploiting the surroundings. Damage is tracked by body part, with injuries changing which abilities remain available. Medical bottles are scarce, so treatment requires deciding which wounds receive attention. When the body reaches complete exhaustion, any further injury is fatal. Luminous white entrances mark routes to safety. The game features a dark ambient score from The Nomad Communion and uses Unreal Engine 5.
