Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking direct combat or action may bounce off the colony-building and resource-management focus.
- Players who dislike monitoring power, maintenance resources, pollution, and supply limits may hit a wall as colonies grow.
- Players seeking only an open-ended sandbox may find the mission objectives restrictive.
- Players who want factory-design puzzles without colonists, pollution, or planetary objectives may prefer another game.
Our take on Colonials Programme
The bounce point comes when colony growth brings several constraints together. Machines need power and maintenance resources, while pollution and supply limits restrict expansion. Players who prefer unencumbered construction may stall as the settlement becomes more demanding.
What is Colonials Programme?
Colonials Programme is a colony-management game about constructing settlements and managing resources.
Players build on tile-based maps with varied terrain and layouts, using 12 machine types to extract 8 elements and produce power, water, and oxygen. Machines consume resources for maintenance and require power to operate. Pollution and machine supply limits add constraints as colonies expand. Missions set objectives such as sheltering colonists, launching rockets, or levelling planetary terrain. Campaign Mode includes over a dozen missions and follows two robots, AI and Mimi, as they travel through the galaxy. Players can upgrade both robots and create custom missions with the Map Editor.
