Our take on CloudCity VR
The defining detail is the shift between a giant planning view and resident scale, allowing the streets to be explored as an islander while the city’s 24-hour cycle and weather continue.
What is CloudCity VR?
CloudCity VR is a city-building simulation played in room-scale virtual reality.
Start from scratch, construct a metropolis, and manage its citizens while developing the economy. Businesses and other buildings interact through a polycentric urban model, producing changing conditions in the city. Physical interaction allows many objects to be grabbed, thrown, connected, created, or removed, including terrain and structures. Cities can be viewed from a giant perspective or explored at resident scale. A complete 24-hour cycle changes daylight, while rain and other weather conditions alter the atmosphere. Players may focus on meeting islanders’ needs and creating an idealized community, or prioritize industry and income even when that places less emphasis on the populace.
