Our take on City of Brass
The game replaces a fixed action-adventure route with repeated attempts through a changing city. Its central play pattern combines sword and whip attacks with movement and trap manipulation, while time pressure and frequent deaths shape each run.
What is City of Brass?
Play as a thief in an Arabian Nights-inspired city, using a scimitar and versatile whip during first-person action encounters.
Movement includes sprinting, crouching, sliding, leaping, and vaulting, while hazards such as pits, blades, projectiles, unstable paving, and poison gas threaten progress. These dangers can also be manipulated against enemies. Genies trade benefits for loot or grant powerful advantages. Procedurally generated areas create changing but logical routes across repeated attempts, with time running out and death ending each run. Update 1. 5 adds the Revenant, a crossbow-wielding playable character, along with new weapons and relics to discover.

City of Brass compared to similar games
Sundered: Eldritch Edition is a chaotic metroidvania with roguelite structure, whereas City of Brass uses first-person combat, a whip, and environmental traps in a procedurally generated city. Abyssus combines roguelite play with multiplayer shooting and hand-crafted levels; City of Brass instead centers on its sword, whip, hazards, and Arabian Nights setting.
